A sad day for New Zealand.

Today we learnt that Kashin the elephant had died.We think it is very sad especially for the people who work at the zoo.We are writing an e-mail to them.We think the zoo should get another elephant. We found some neat photos of kashin on www.nzherald.co.nz so visit this site with your family and discover why kashin was New Zealands most loved animal.

  2. Dear Room F

We are a class of Grade 5 (Year 6) students from Bangkok, Thailand. We have many elephants in Thailand. Some elephants walk the streets with their masters "begging" for food. You buy the bags of food and get to feed the elephants. Some of the elephants have been rescued from people who don't treat them very well. There are a few places around Thailand that care for these elephants. We are sure that your Zoo looked after Kashin very well and are sad that he died. Most of us in this class have ridden on an elephant.
We think it's cool that your school has a rainbow as your special symbol. Our special symbol is a panther. All our sports teams wear the panther. Our sports colors are black and yellow.
We will put your classroom blog URL on our classroom blog roll and hope that you will come visit us too.
